Why it took us 10 years to make a whole bean mushroom coffee
Love mushroom coffee? And customizing your grind size to brew your way? You’ve been asking us for nearly a decade to make a whole bean mushroom coffee. We apologize in advance because we truly thought it was not possible. We were wrong. Our central goal is to offer you the most delicious, easy to use, and beneficial products possible. We focus on real, whole food, 100% organic ingredients that have each been 3rd party lab tested for quality and cleanliness. This also means using fair-trade coffee beans sourced from family farms and cooperatives, all from places coffee is naturally grown and produced. When it comes to our functional mushrooms, it means using only real mushroom fruiting bodies, log-grown or wild-harvested, and dual-extracted. We want you to believe in our products as much as we do, and as much as our ancestors have loved and revered them for thousands of years.
We didn’t think it was possible to keep up with our promises (above) while making a whole bean coffee. See, the potent functional mushroom and adaptogen extracts we use are concentrated powders. In order to combine extracted powders onto a whole coffee bean, we thought we would have to use agents, adhesives, or adherents. This is a strong no-go. We’re a health food company, after all. So, we apologized for years and told you that unfortunately, a whole bean option with our standards was simply not possible.
